Son of the Underground
by Isaac Liu
Isaac Liu recalls his life as a Chinese Christian taught by his grandmother in his early years. His mother worked in the fields, and his dad was often in prison for preaching the gospel. The Word of God was passed along by word of mouth and texts were written on scraps of paper; it was too dangerous to have a Bible. Great effort was made to memorise the Bible, so if you were imprisoned, you could recall the texts and songs you learnt. Isaac was gifted in memory and speech, and by age ten, he could lead the worship service. God’s love for his people shines through. This book deals with the struggle to know and do God’s will.
